The first offering of the now famous Scanlens cards are the company’s rarest and most valuable Football series. This set of 18 features players from only 9 of the 12 VFL clubs plus interstate players L. Fitzgerald and the great Haydn Bunton Jnr. This highly collectable series is also known for its bright colour scheme with some players appearing in varied and unusual uniforms. They were available in packets with a stick of bubble gum from milk bars, newsagents and similar outlets but as they were the pilot series for Scanlens Football cards they were only released in very limited numbers compared to later series.
