1966 VFL Scanlens (14) Ian Cooper St Kilda

This set of 72, the biggest of the Scanlens Football series release up to 1966, features players from all 12 VFL clubs and the 8 WAFL teams of the time. Each card has good quality posed action shots with a club name pennant and player position on the front. The set also includes selected die cut cards. On the reverse of each is part of a “giant Melbourne Grand Final aerial photo with club captains” from the previous year’s big game. This ‘jigsaw’ became an integral part of the company’s subsequent sets. They were available in packets with a stick of bubble gum from milk bars, newsagents and similar outlets. Each Die Cut card is also known to exist un-cut.
